W8 light fitting, February 2005

Another mod for the car (the last for now) - a W8 light from a Passat. This is a replacement interior light unit, which is illuminated when the headlights are on, and shines two soft red LEDs into the cockpit, giving a subtle but useful level of interior illumination at night. I saw one of these in a Passat at car giant and just had to have it - luckily it's the same size as the one in the Golf so you can switch them, you just have to wire up an additional cable to the LEDs.
