It is like vicarious exercise. If I can stay ahead of the thousands of others just starting the poker learning curve since it got televised and popular, maybe I can earn some more gadget money! ;) The main attraction to me is that it's fun, social, mentally taxing, you can just keep improving your game (there's really no ceiling) and (if played skillfully) it's financially rewarding - that's a good recipe for a hobby. I have to disagree with Euan - it’s too cold and wet to go running surprisingly often, around here, let me tell you ;)
