Heh, well I ran every day I was down the Falklands which has far more inclement weather than the UK.

But then I was a squaddie which presupposes a certain level of instability ;-)

Since it is too cold and wet to run, you could make your character in GTA:SA run everywhere he goes. It is like vicarious exercise. I also find that running in games never triggers asthma attacks, so I have decided that this must truly be a healthier alternative. :-D

I have to disagree with Euan - it's too cold and wet to go running surprisingly often, around here, let me tell you ;)

I saw the /. poker article - funny to watch this thing spreading. If I can stay ahead of the thousands of others just starting the poker learning curve since it got televised and popular, maybe I can earn some more gadget money! ;)

The main attraction to me is that it's fun, social, mentally taxing, you can just keep improving your game (there's really no ceiling) and (if played skillfully) it's financially rewarding - that's a good recipe for a hobby.
