More books and stuff
This article made me order Getting things done, and I’ll be interested to see if it can help with the mass of work I always have queued up at the office..
I’ve been playing a bit more poker, and am still doing well :) I spent my winnings from the other night on some poker books to improve my grasp of the theory.. I picked up: Theory of Poker and Hold’em Poker by David Sklansky (great books with a heavy stats angle) and Play Poker Like the Pros (by Phil Helmuth). The last is very different from the first two, it’s a lot more based on Phil’s experience than mathematical expectations (Sklansky’s all about playing the odds). It’s good because it covers more of the human aspects of poker, but quite often Phil will give advice on ways to play without saying why, and I don’t think much of his “beginners limit holdem strategy”.
I have so many books on my “to read” pile now… Maybe I should push Getting things done to the front so it can help me find time to get through the rest? ;)
I spent my winnings from last night on this USB-IDE gadget based on Dan’s review. Looks like something I could really use and the price is right..

Dude, I popped over to that 43 Folders review of Getting Things Done and I started browsing some other reviews of the book and a series of articles on the whole process, I ended up running out to the store and picking up some supplies, including a new Day Planner and some other useful bits and I am totally exciting about moving to the whole GTD style of planning. Wish Me Luck!!!!
