iRiver envy
So I seem to have managed to convince two people in the office to buy iRiver iHP140’s now. Of course, I still don’t have one - having foolishly purchased an iPod instead, and now I’m constantly taunted by their superior listening equipment while at work :p
I picked up the tomtom navigation software for my iPAQ, to use in conjunction with my bluetooth GPS receiver. It’s actually pretty good software, and awesomely useful in the car.. However it’s less useful on foot right now, as there doesn’t appear to be a way to switch off the “snap to road” feature. In fact, it’s pretty hard to find any half decent GPS software with decent UK maps that does allow this.. I’ll keep looking though.

I like your coworkers. If they excluded you from conversations and meetings because “you’ve only got an iPod”, that would be even better.

hmmm i dunno, i produce music mostly and know the difference between the two. if you want sound quality, then you need a decent set of cans (i have shure e5’s with custom ear moulds)
the issue with the iRiver is that IM scared to show it to anyone as it looks like its been designed by stevie wonder and the blind school
i still use my ipod, and have just got a new 40gb one (went from 5gb –> 10gb –> 20gb –> 40gb

I know what you mean about the looks - but then my iPod spends 100% of its time in my pocket anyway.. I’m surprised that someone who produces music would go for the device that can’t record over the device with optical inputs!
You’re right about the cans. I have a pair of Etymotic ER6’s, and love them :)

If you get moe gadgets, you will need more pockets. Have you seen these? http://www.scottevest.com. Too cool.

Yeah - if only I could find a way to try clothes on over the net - I’d probably already own one ;)
